Skipping on the Great Sea
Skipping on the Great Sea, 11 inches tall by 14 inches wide, pastel on hardboard.
This pastel painting of a great shearwater running on the surface of the Atlantic ocean was inspired by my experience jigging in Newfoundland, during the summer of 2019. The shearwaters and seagulls would gather around the ships looking for fish scraps. And they would 'skip' away when they were ready to take off. Such a beautiful thing to see how they can dance on the water's surface.
This is an original one of a kind pastel painting. Colors vary from screen to screen, but vibrant blues, purples and off-white dominate in this painting. Please email me if you have any questions about color, size or would like more pictures.
