This painting is part of a series on migrating birds.
Inspired by watching loons on Lake Arbutus, in the Adirondacks, "Flashing" reveals the moment a loon is defending its territory by "dancing" in the water. This mixed media painting is 18 inches in diameter, and includes pastel, embroidery, and watercolor on canvas. Colors vary from screen to screen, but the dominant colors are blue, white, black, and hints of green and blue with beige canvas background.
