Verde Artist Challenge - 'A River Runs Thru us'

The Verde River is one of Arizona’s last free-flowing, designated ‘Wild & Scenic’ rivers. It provides sustainable habitat for a large, unique, and biologically diverse wildlife population. Verde Valley Land Preservation, a non-profit organization located in Cottonwood, AZ, juried in 25 artists for their project, Verde Artist Challenge in Spring 2013.
The project sent 25 artists on a rafting and camping trip on the Verde River, from White Bridge to Beasley Flat (Camp Verde) in April 2013. The artists rafted, camped, and learned about the Verde River and watershed natural habitat. Then, the artists were sent home to create Verde River inspired art that was then donated to V.V.L.P. for the traveling exhibit, "A River Runs Thru Us."
The purpose for this exhibition is to increase awareness and raise funds for research and education projects designed to promote the sustainability of the Verde River Corridor.
The exhibit began in July 2013 at THE MANHEIM GALLERY in Cottonwood, AZ, and will travel through Camp Verde, Clarkdale, Phoenix, Sedona, Prescott, and end at the Birdy Verde Festival in Cottonwood, in May 2014.
All of the artists and artwork can be seen at www.VerdeArtistChallenge.org. And the artwork is available for sale through an online auction at www.auctions.verdeartistchallenge.org.

I was selected as one of the 25 artists, these were the two pieces I donated to VVLP:
