Reclaim (Phacelia brachyloba), mixed media on linen (thread, charcoal, watercolor on linen), 6"

This mixed media painting is inspired by the flowers that bloom during the spring after a fire. These flowers are known as fire flowers and they give hope that the forest's ecosystem is bouncing back after a bleak winter. This painting features a Phacelia brachyloba, an herb which is native to the coastal mountain areas between Monterey and Baja California and are known to emerge in recently burned forests.

This original mixed media circle painting ships framed. Colors vary from screen to screen, this prominent colors in this painting are the light purple and yellow thread, and green grays.
