Looking
Pastel drawing of a Cheetah looking to the right, sitting in the grass. Cheetahs are known as the fastest animal in the world... they are also diminishing the fastest too. They are considered Africa’s most endangered big cat with only 8000 left in the wild. In addition to habitat lost, many are killed by farmers due to their interest in cattle. Organizations like Cheetah Conservation Fund are finding ways to prevent their decline and encourage a happy coexistence with farmers. I have always found cheetahs beautiful and I hope to help encourage others to see these spots as something to protect and love for years to come.
Watchful
6 inches wide by 9 inches tall.
This little drawing is inspired by an European rabbit that I encountered on San Juan Island, in Washington. The rabbits there are not native and were introduced in the early 1900s when a failed domestic rabbit breeding company went out of businesses and decided to release them. The rabbits continued to survive and prosper, and today they can be found in American Camp on San Juan Island!

In the summer of 2018, I spent two months exploring the Adirondacks, living deep in the forest near a lake.
Living under the shed, there was a chipmunk who bounced around in the mornings looking for nuts, bugs, and spiders to collect and eat. Some mornings, he would hop up on the window sill while we enjoyed breakfast, and munch on the raisin that magically appeared there.. no idea how they got there....
This little watercolor, mixed media painting is a portrait of that chipmunk, but perhaps it reminds you of the friends in your backyard. No matter what they do, you can't deny, they are quite cute.
